    SUSTAINABLE FARMING INCENTIVE (SFI) 
     
    The SFI is the ‘entry-level’ component of ELM and is intended to be a scheme that is relatively easy to get into. Defra has a target of 70% of English farms to take part in SFI. Currently, it is only open to those in receipt of the BPS, including those with an existing CS agreement but will extend to all later in 2024.
